Ok so here is the deal. I have a user account on my work computer (windows xp) that i lost the password to. I can log on to the main Administrator of the computer however it does not let me reset the user account password b/c it has administrator rights. This is extremely important or I am screwed big time at work. :(

^^^ Tried via the Administrator and via the Administrator in safe mode.

Let me make sure I was clear. The account password I need to reset is a user account with admin privileges therefore the reset button is unavailable when I log on as administrator.

You should be able to set the account to a normal user using safe mode, change the password then put it back to admin?

I can provide you with a Windows XP password reset tool, if you PM me. This can be install or remotely loaded onto your machine and allow you to reset the password, via logon screen or desktop. Refer me to a virus scan website online to allow me to offer you the download and a log of the file being clean. :)
