Hi All,

When running my computer ( using Windows XP) I find that quite often an alert box appears on the bottom right side of my screen informing me that "Windows Virtual Memory is low". The performance of the computer slows down significantly.

I understand that this is because my computers hard drive is being used to store a chunk of RAM. However, my system information shows that I have 2.00GB total virtual memory, of which I have 1.96GB available, albeit the physical memory total is 256MB, with only 17.61MB available?

Is there a way of identifying what the RAM is being used for and 'cleaning it up' so to speak, or do I need to buy more RAM and have it installed?

Please help.

Thanks,

John
