Default Vista Drive Format

How do you re-format a drive that contains Vista as the OP system,?? As when i try it wont let me because it says it contains the OP system.

Reason is i want a clean wipe so i can start again.

But even when i follow instructions such as.....install disc then restart pc......it wont re-boot off the disc and in any other kind of re-installation there is no option to re-format anything.

ok, so when you boot up there should be a few bold bits of writing at the botom of the screen, one will say press "this key" to choose boot up device (i think it might be F8, but it may also be F12) then from that you can choose to boot from CD, then it should be fairly straight forward.
