From your administrator account run Windows Explorer, Tools / Folder Options / View, Show hidden files and folders. Then browse to C:\Users\Public\Desktop, you'll find the shared icons. You should also see each user and be able to adjust what they have or haven't got on their desktops. I suggest that what you want to retain on your admin desktop but suppress from theirs goes from Public to your admin space.
