Well i installed Vista on a clean drive and sat around for 2.5 hours on a dial up waiting for all updates.
![]() Then sat around again while installed part of Mcafee updates. Get up this morning to continue and Windows now cannot see my modem I have checked my hardware for any yellow marks and all is working correctly-------I have tried re-installing my dial up connection and still Windows cannot see or find my modem.Any ideas please |

Can you roll back the driver in Device Manager ?

when you installed the updates did you restart the computer? was it working then?
if so the next thing you installed, mcaffe, may have something to do with it, although i havent known a AV to disable a modem, id try a roll back/restore if possible without having to install all updates again
