Hi guys,
Thanks for the welcome Hybr!d. You guys have a great community here, and I’m looking forward to helping out and learning from you guys at the same time.
@philthomas, I wouldn’t advise you do that. Especially if you’re going to just eat it dry.
Cheers guys,
Ron

Hope to see you around the Forum ..... any insider info as to when W7 will be released.

Personally I like it a lot better than Vista, so will welcome it on my machines.

Hi philthomas,
No insider info, but here are a couple blogs to follow for the latest info:
http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/200...milestone.aspx
http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/windows7/default.aspx
The engineering blog actually has a lot of great info about the process Microsoft uses for OS releases, so it will give you an idea about what’s coming up.
Cheers,
Ron

Grammar!
Windows being a brand/product, I'm fairly sure "is" is acceptable, a lot of grammar pickyness going on recently!! But I agree, if we were talking about cleaning a domestic fitting, I would like to see "What are seven windows?"

That's my grammar reckoning, but as for OP, like Dave said in first response, Windows 7 is the latest version of Microsoft Windows (like 95, 98, ME, XP, Vista) and a Beta edition of something is when it hasn't been officially released, it's still in the making and going through tests, but available for use so you can see what it's like.

One up on Alpha and one down on Charlie surely?

Except that should be Bravo anyway.. Although the maybe trans-atlantic differences, I didn't see you're flag..
