Whats the difference between Windows Vista 32bit and 64bit? Apparently some say 64bit is better because most viruses run on 32bit and at the moment i have a trojan which none of my anti spyware and anti virus pick up so im thinking ot change to 64bit?

It doesn't matter when it comes to getting infected if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows. Most virus/trojans are caused by user error. Clicking a bad link, downloading a malicious file, opening an infected email/chat room attachment and so on.

Do you need help in removing the trojan? I would suggest following our Malware Removal Guide then posting the 3 logs in the Virus, Spyware & Security forum so a member of the Malware Group can make sure everything is actually gone or not. Many times there is a lot more bad stuff on a PC then what a regular antivirus will remove.

Here are answers to some common questions about the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.

The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information.
The 64-bit versions of Windows can utilize more memory than 32-bit versions of Windows. This helps minimize the time spent swapping processes in and out of memory by storing more of those processes in Random access memory (RAM) rather than on the hard disk. This, in turn, can increase overall program performance. For more details, go to A description of the differences between 32-bit versions of Windows Vista and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista online.

For the most part it's down to RAM.

32Bit can only see 3.25GB.
