i have a computer with DDR ram, i want to upgrade it, its an RM computer, ive used the Crucial scanning method to try and find the speeds of RAM i can put in, i know the maximum size, but its the speeds im worried about, if i bought a piece of RAM that is faster then would the motherboard can handle, will it not accept it, or will it slow it down to the maximum it can handle?
Running faster RAM won't be a problem. It just won't run at its maximum speed.

The best way to find out what RAM you have is to open up the side of the case and take a look at it. If it isn't obvious post what it says on the sticker and I will try and decipher it.

Try getting the Java from HERE

----------

OK, we need to get rid of the remaining Norton services.

Go to Start > Run and type or copy and paste these two lines into the window (one at a time) and then click OK after each one.

sc stop ccEvtMgr

sc delete ccEvtMgr

Now do the same for each of the following (one at a time in order)

sc stop ccPwdSvc

sc delete ccPwdSvc

sc stop ccSetMgr

sc delete ccSetMgr

sc stop symlcsvc

sc delete symlcsvc

Now go and delete this folder - This is a completely different location than Norton Ghost so it won't remove that.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared

----------

Have Hijackthis fix these entries.

- O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Broadbandadvisor.exe] "C:\Program Files\Virgin Broadband\advisor\Broadbandadvisor.exe" /AUTORUN

Run CCleaner.

Done.

i know the type of ram in there its 256mb 2100 (266mhz) i just wanted to know really what would happen if i bought a faster speeded one, plus would a faster one slow down to this speed 2100?

The RAM will only run as fast as the FSB on the motherboard. They will both run at the speed of the slowest one.

Did that fix from Kellys-Korner work?

Try using Unlocker to delete it.

Serverguy yes that fix from kellys corner seems to have worked thanks for that, and so i will not suffer any incompatibilty due to the different speeds, is there away that i can find the speed of my FSB, i havent seen many programs with it on?

Evilfantasy, i seemed to have only been able to get rid of some of them, i have a folder and 5 files that wont go! but when other the unlocker thing opens it relates it to norton ghost!
