Now that Vista is out, and we know it will be a couple of years before it is stable, what do you think Microsoft has in the works to entice us into upgrading in 3 years?

It's probably too soon to think about just plugging our brains into our computers, so I think it might be wearable hardware and software.

I don't have Vista on either of my computers, even though my laptop supposedly is "Vista Capable."

I would hope that Microsoft is working on the service packs to deal with the issues that have been reported about Vista. :o

Topics like this do make me laugh.

It's not Microsoft wanting us to upgrade so they release new windows.

It's the gamers, the general public, Nvidia, Intel, AMD, ATi, etc etc.

They're the ones pushing the boundaries and recently they couldn't take things any further with XP, it just isn't powerful enough.

So Microsoft HAD to make Vista, and were forced to release it early and buggy because its what the gamers and hardware company's wanted.

Ok

What frontier do you think Microsoft will develop next, after they throw patches at Vista?

That's an interesting point, Dave.

In all the clips I've ever seen with Bill Gates speaking, he certainly gave me the impression that he was in a leading role. ;)

An interesting point but not really logical, (sorry mate gotta say it).
This is like a car company inventing a car then telling the oil companys that the fuel need to run it has to be made in such a manner.
But the car companys already know how to make the fuel but the oil company doesn't?
As Spock would say "That is not logical Captain!"

My husband told me about a program that allows two people to manipulate an item in space, no need for a screen, it's all projected on the desk's top. I forgot to ask him the name of the program though.
