On my USB stick, I had a folder with photos. As I was deleting them since I no longer need them, there were two files added into that folder that were surely not created by me (I'm guessing the system made it).

They had a file type I have never seen before in my life. JG file type (no it's not any form of jpeg file types).

I can't seem to delete this file for some reason. Could anyone help me?

Photo attached of what message I receive when I try to delete them:

PS:
I was also wondering what this file type is and what it's used for, just to cure my curiosity.

Unfortunately USB Sticks get corrupted and this looks like the case with yours.

Try reformatting the drive ..... see this page for some useful info

Isn't that a WinRAR logo?

Looks like whatever it is want's to open wth WinRAR, try opening it up, see if anything's inside.

If that is the case then WinRAR gives you the option to delete the file as well, this may sort it.

On another note, I have a similarish thing on one of my HDD's, I have a load of folders named alphanumerically, which I didn't create and can't delete, they come and go and new ones are created.

Could this be a corrupted format phil?

I did set them all to be hidden folders, so they wouldn't annoy me (I presumed they were just system folders) but that doesn't seem t work on W7 for some reason.

Note that this is a HDD with no OS on it too.

Thanks
