I am running Win2000 Pro on my D Drive. I had something go wrong with this OS, after that the following folders were created: "Documents and Settings1" and "program files1". How Can I get rid of the folders that end in "1"? Most the sub-folders are empty. They will be completely empty when I uninstall the 2 programs that run from there.
I also ran a program that shows me whats running on my computer and found "catchme" (red flag in my mind). I stopped it from running immediately. It is located D:\Docume~1\Admini~1\Locals~1\Temp\catchme. It doesn't show up in windows explorer so I think this is a DOS location. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I have a triple boot system, running Win98SE, Win2000 Pro svc pk 3, and Win XP Pro Svc pk 2. Thank you

Deleting the folders suffixing '1' should be easy, as long as you have administrative rights?

And Command Prompt should be able to recognise 'catchme' which i agree does sound very ominous..
Don't mean to patronise you but thats * Start > Run > "CMD" * if you didnt already know. From there you should be able to locate the file and delete or whatever.

Thank you. I will be trying it as soon as my son gets done with his allotted time on the computer.
