I am running Win2000 Pro on my D Drive. I had something go wrong with this OS, after that the following folders were created: "Documents and Settings1" and "program files1". How Can I get rid of the folders that end in "1"? Most the sub-folders are empty. They will be completely empty when I uninstall the 2 programs that run from there.
I also ran a program that shows me whats running on my computer and found "catchme" ( red flag in my mind). I stopped it from running immediately. It is located D:\Docume~1\Admini~1\Locals~1\Temp\catchme. It doesn't show up in windows explorer so I think this is a DOS location. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated.By the way, I have a triple boot system, running Win98SE, Win2000 Pro svc pk 3, and Win XP Pro Svc pk 2. Thank you |

Deleting the folders suffixing '1' should be easy, as long as you have administrative rights?

And Command Prompt should be able to recognise 'catchme' which i agree does sound very ominous.. Don't mean to patronise you but thats * Start > Run > "CMD" * if you didnt already know. From there you should be able to locate the file and delete or whatever. My System: FordyPC

Thank you. I will be trying it as soon as my son gets done with his allotted time on the computer.
