| hi, I'm having a problem installing windows 7 on my PC First I couldn't run the setup from within vista, so I booted from the DVD and the installer asked for a CD/DVD driver. I then downloaded the updated driver for my dvd rom, same thing happened. so i made a bootable USB drive, and the installer still asked for the CD/DVD driver, in a last ditch attempt, i disconnected all my optical and floppy drives, but the installer still asked the damn driver. does anybody know whats going on? btw, my DVD drive is IDE, not sata. |

| Never had any problems installing W7 ..... it sounds like maybe your download got corrupted ...... did you get it from the official Microsoft website ?.
