i have been looking at being one of the first to purchase windows 7 when it comes out where i am and just wondering what the minimum hardware requirements will be?

i heard it was built to run on the newest of new hardware... some technology mag.
fingers crossed that it isn't as slow, laggy and incompatible as vista :) |

It will run on a PIII if you want, its a very well optimised OS

As with any Windows before it, I would take the minimum and double it. Unless you're not planning on using it for anything.

right... im going to get a laptop with windows 7 on it when it first comes out - any suggestions for what it should have in it? (hardware wise)

7 runs just as well on netbooks as anything else. Don't worry about the OS just get what fits your needs.

If I were gonna get a new laptop I'd get a 64 bit setup w' a minimum of 4 GB RAM and 2.66 GHz or higher CPU. That way you'll be set for a while. Also, I'd make sure it had a video card w' dedicated memory, minimum 512 MB.

If I was going to get a laptop I would get one that had a battery life of more than two minutes and didn't run at 90C because I tried to shove desktop performance in it
