Hi, I have a lenovo thinkpad, and it suddenly started acting weird. I got a bsod, and then it shut down. When I tried restarting it, it just sort of stopped on the "starting windows". And it does this for every way I tried to startup my computer, including the last known good configuration option. I tried running startup repair but it said it couldn't detect any problems. And it couldn't find any restore points either. The only way I can get it to load up now is when I use safe mode. I've been messing around with it for the past few hours, trying things like rolling back the drivers, but nothing's worked. The background in safe mode is black if that tells you anything at all. I'd really appreciate any help you guys fan give.

Alright, so apparently my computer can start up. But it still spends about ten minutes on that "starting windows" screen. And when it does finally start up, it's still really slow, and will freeze up if I try to open some programs.

Alright, so now it wont even start up in safe mode. All it does is go straight to startup recovery which hasn't worked. I looked at the details of the repair, and it said the problem was a registry corruption or something like that.

It seems there something wrong with the Hardware more likely it might be your hard drive. You should check hard drive first.

I'm unfamiliar with the lenovo thinkpad but does it have an optical drive?, also are you able to access the boot options to see if it would boot from a usb drive.
