Unhappy windows automated systems recovery disk

second computer is asking for the above disc which i do not posses, is there any way around this problem without the disk to bring the computer back to life again. what is the best method to rectify this problem? cheers in advance, chris

Cheers Dave its a windows xp edition. the message i am getting is: "windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: windows/system32/config/system.? is this any help?

You need to do a Windows repair, you will need a XP disc that matches the XP version currently on your PC.

You will need a valid licence number also, again, it must match the version on the CD you are using and the version that is currently on your PC.
