Default Windows host process (rundll32) has stopped working

I have a microsoft finger scanner keyboard I have just installed vista and the keyboard never worked corectly. Whenever I go into control panal and keyboards up pops that message. I have updated the keyboard software to work with vista but i still get that. I have done a reg clean as I heard that can sort it but it did nothing. Any help you can give would be great.
