Default Windows is Killing Itself!

Hey everyone...

Yesterday I uninstalled ATI Display Driver and Catalyst Control Centre ready for a new graphics card. It uninstalled successfully and then i got this message from windows, "Some important windows files have been replaced with unregognised versions, please insert your windows backup disk". well it was something like that, all i did was uninstall ATI using the uninstall utility and now windows is doing strange things...

1. It says it has the device drivers for my CD Rom however it cannot detect the device, however it detects my non - existant floppy drive.
2. It randomly closes down applications unexpectidly.
3. Sometimes on startup it tries to Boot an ethernet controller instead of my Hard Disk.

Why is this happening, all i did was uninstall ATI. Why is windows killing itself, i dont have a backup disk and can anyone give me any ideas to these problems.

Big Thanks to anyone who answers!

Sounds like it looking for graphics card drivers.

Either install the new cards drivers when it comes, or install the drivers for the onboard graphics. Download them from the motherboard manufactures website.

Im afraid thats not the answer to these problems...

I tried reistalling the driver but no luck still does same things.
I figured my Drive may have burnt out or something so I have ordered another one... I should just try to refomat windows see if that helps.
