Default Windows update

From your details, it looks like you have 96mb RAM .... probably 2 sticks .... 1 x 64mb and 1 x 32mb.
If you have a look through your Everest Home report, you should find under DMI and Memory Modules, what is in there now and what type. Also see if the Motherboard model is listed .... this will help to determine what RAM you need.

Yep that all means a lot.

Ideally for XP, you should have a minimum of 256mb.

This is the RAM you will need .... I would suggest replacing what you have now with 2 x 128mb sticks. You could try mixing and matching, but as there are only 2 x slots, you would only be able to achieve 192mb, by keeping the 64mb and adding a 128mb, which is still a bit low.

Here are the specs of your motherboard, in case you need them in the future. As you can see it can take up to 512mb

aye the 133 you got it

bargain aswell

and yeh its a case of opening the base, taking out the old and putting in the new

computer recognizes it automatically and you'll see a sharp improvement

take out the mains aswell when do it

they may not want to go in, does take abit of a push

theres a few makes out there that can provide ram, but if think in your case in wont matter going for the top brands

have you got a local computer store? he may provide and fit them for you, normally free of charge

Just ground yourself before handling the RAM ... touching a nearby radiator should do it. and avoid touching the copper connectors.

You can go for cheaper unbranded stuff if you wish, but with RAM you often get what you pay for.

Crucial is more expensive, but they guarantee the RAM will work with your motherboard. If it doesn't they will refund your money.
It's up to you, but the item you listed is under Laptop Accessories/Memory |Upgrades, so it doesn't look like the guy knows much about what he's selling !!

Here's a list of the correct type ..... the Kingston one at £7.99 seems fairly good to me, but it looks like only 1 is available, but no guarantees here.
