I have a machine running XP 32 bit currently but my new computer is having Vista 64 bit on. I noticed that in the Windows 7 installation it asked me if I wanted to overwrite XP and keep all my files and such. Will this be the same on Vista setup? and will it work going from 32 to 64 bit OS'?

My plan was to use Acronis migrate easy to clone my hard drive onto my new PC then overwrite XP with Vista 64 bit, in theory I get to keep all my files and get Vista 64 bit. Anything I should know?

Thanks guys!

Going from 32 to 64 or XP to Vista both require a fresh install, format, wipe, drivers, the lot.
