I have a brand new laptop. My windows experience index score is only 3.6. Is there any way to raise that? It is a really nice laptop and not sure why it is so low..

What are the individual scores?

The lowest of the scores forms the base of your main score.

So improve the individual scores to raise the main score.

I shouldn't worry too much about it.

I was disappointed to when I got my PC about a year ago and it was something like 3.4-6, but as Dave says your overall score is just your lowest score, which is silly and not silly at the same time, because I guess you are only as good as your weakest point, it's what they say about security systems.

As long as you can still run everything you want to be running it's fine really, but if there's a game that doesn't run as well as you would wish, then that's when you should go to the index score and pick up you're lower scores.

But if it's a new laptop I wouldn't of thought you would want to do that yet? Because theres only very minute changes you can make software wise, basically it just rates your hardware components.

If it really bothers you, get a new graphics card, but if youdon't need it ie. you don't game or the games you play look fine as it is, then don't bother.

Graphics is what is holding your score back, and you cannot upgrade a laptop graphics card. Period.

Either way it's just a number, what is important is real performance. If the machine does what you want it to what does a score even matter.
