I am currently running Windows Vista Home SP1 on my laptop.

When it close the lid and it hibernates or goes into sleep, during the night or something, it will come on itself. Whats the problem?

But, if i click "sleep" manually on the computer shut down options, it doesn't come on.

Is it a Vista problem?

Hibernate and Sleep are a little different .... make sure the setting for closing the lid is set to Sleep and not Hibernate, then they should behave the same.

If the Laptop is connected to a LAN, there may be a setting in bios "Wake on Lan" that is causing it, if so, try disabling it and see if things improve.

I might be wrong here but I believe that WOL is supported by modern Wireless Cards.

Go to Network Connections in Control Panel, right click & select Properties on your Wireless Card, click on Configure & Advanced tab ....... If it does support WOL it'll be listed here.
