They removed it from the download page so I don't know what is going on yet.

I believe this release is the RTM (Released to Manufaturers) version

I understand it wont be available on Windows Update untl March 2008

Anyone with a pirated copy, will have a surprise after installing this, as per M$ article here

The download from Microsoft is an iso file and is 1,16gb, so it will have to be burnt to a DVD, with burner software that can burn iso files ...i.e. Nero, ImgBurn etc.

I just downloaded it, but being a cynic, I am not rushing to install it .... I will probably wait a month or two, until all the bugs have been identified and corrected by further updates

Yeah .... I just extracted the iso and that is indeed what it is ... i.e. The Windows Automated Installation Kit and not SP1.

Never mind Alex ..... we'll just have to be patient a bit longer

Yeah, that's the case Phil lol.

Everyone who owns a Vista computer is surely looking forward to this Service Pack.

I'm a BETA tester for many products MS bring out, and I've done a few BETAS with SP1 and yeah, it does give more round stability and speed.

That's good to know ..... has the file copying speeds improved significantly ? .... that is one of my biggest beefs.

Yes, Phil. There is increased performance of file copying that I noticed.

You can also read THIS blog which also explains the improvements.
