| Hi, I am going to get my PC re-built and in the process, reformatted. My question is, which version of Vista and XP is best for gaming? Thanks |

| Home premium offers the best value for money, the various above versions have addons for major network stuff and businesses.

Basic is massively cut down, and with home premium you can turn stuff off if you want to save some speed anyway. XP on the other hand does not support DX10, which all new gfx cards and some games are now using. My System: Hybr!d

| And as for x64/x86: 32 bit XP is good, 64 bit Vista is good. 64 bit XP is pretty horrible with compatibility, and 32 bit Vista is OK but x64 runs really well on it.

| If you had asked this question about 6 months ago I would have said XP, but as so many more games are now using DX10 (as are GFX cards) then I would say get Vista. Home Premium definitely offers the best value for money.
