Default Windows XP Install

Hi, I have just read "yvonnet's" question about reinstalling Windows XP. I have a similar question and my computer is about the same age. My PC came with a Windows XP Disc with Service pack 1 installed on it. I have read that Windows no longer supports SP1 so if I do a reinstall will I be able to upgrade from SP1 somehow. I have done a reinstall in the past and put all the updates for SP 1 on, then updated to SP2 but will I be able to so it now without updating SP1 first. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Why re-install?

Just add SP2 to what you have already.

And yes, SP2 includes SP1 within it.

Hi, Dave I want to do a reinstall to make things go a bit quicker. My PC has got slow as of late, probably to do with the junk my boys put on here. In the past I have always been able to take it back to factory condition when this has happened but wasn't sure if I ws still able to do it now that MS have stopped supporting SP1. Thanks Shed.
