Default XP install problem (HANG)

After many hours of tring to install xp i have came here again in search of help. I just got a new PSU and GPU (OCZ 600w and MSI 8800gt OC) i thought it would be better to reinstall my system to make it fresh and clean for my new card but when the install gets to 34 minutes it just hangs. I have tried all the solutions to solve this like reding the setupapi.log file and deleting the last .inf files but to no avail. Can someone please help i have almost lost all my patience with this.

Could be your hard drive, are you doing a FULL format before install and you could also try putting it in another machine and running a FULL check disk on it to fit any errors.

I would want XP due to the fact that the Sound drivers are not compatible with Vista.

Also does my PC look crap? (!NO!) You got banned what do you know! !FOOL STOP SPAMMING!

It could be that the XP disk is broken....

I am back on XP, I did get the sound drivers to work on Vista by running in XP mode ( Right-Click, Properties), but the performance is terrible in most if not all games and demos. Crysis runs at a diabolical 5FPS compared to 15FPS on XP. By using CCC (Crysis Custom Config) I am able to acheive between 20 - 30 FPS . But a system upgrade is the best choicebut also the dearest.

I had to physically hit theHard Drive for it to work, and i later realised in the bios is was set to RAID not SATA (not that it made any difference).
