Default XP Startup is very slow now

Hi, I recently went through the process of cleaning my PC of malware and I noticed that now it takes a very long time to boot up. After Windows loads and logs in (automatically), the screen is blank for a couple of minutes. Aftewards, my desktop will appear and it will load normally.

Can you help me with this? Here is a HJT log in case it helps.

First thing is that you have more than one firewall running:

1. Zone Alarm Firewall

2. Comodo Firewall

Please uninstall one of them because running two firewalls will cause conflicts.

You can delete these two entries:

F3 - REG:win.ini: load=
F3 - REG:win.ini: run=

They are just left over from something else.

Apart from that the computer is clean as far as I can see.

Axegrinder:

The O10 you mentioned is something to do with Netware and is fine.

Edit: Found something else. You need to run the Norton Removal Tool.

Be sure not to confuse Comodo BOCLean with Comodo Firewall.

After following the above advice please do the following.

Scan Suspicious File(s)

Please visit one of the following:
(Multiple sites are given in case one is not working)
(If more than one file needs scanned they must be done separately and logs posted for each one)Copy the file path in the code box below.

Code:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSINFO\MSInfnd.exe
  • At the upload site, click once inside the window next to Browse.
  • Press Ctrl+V on the keyboard (both at the same time) to paste the file path in the window.
  • Next click Send File/Submit/Upload (depending on the site)
    • Your file will possibly be entered into a queue which normally takes less than a minute to clear.
  • This will perform a scan across multiple different virus scanning engines.
  • Please wait for all of the scanning engines to complete.
  • Copy and then Paste the results in the next reply.

Just to make this clear, since I made a mistake.

You probably don't need to uninstall a firewall. I confused BOClean with Comodo Firewall.

BOClean is very good software. You can leave it installed as well as leaving Zone Alarm installed.

Rok:

That wasn't really a very helpful post...
