| I'm trying to re-install XP Home oem (SP3) on a sata drive in a Dell Dimension XPSGen3. The error message "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed, etc, stops the installation. Recovery console won't see the drive either. I've slipstreamed the Intel sata drivers for the ICH6R controller onto the cd, no luck. Tried F6 and installing from a floppy, same thing. Curiously, if I boot to the hard drive, xp loads and runs, both sata drives are accessible. But when booting from the cd it just doesn't see any drives. Anyone ?? |

| XP Install has trouble with SATA drives. In the BIOS set them to run in IDE mode.
