running xp pro with 99% of updates and after getting a modem driver update from win update {agere systems} i started getting the found new hardware thing about once every ten times when connecting. it can never find any software and tells me it might not work properly.it never says what the new hardware is and nothing shows up in device manager. i just hit cancel now when it shows up. i'm thinking the new driver doesn't cover some function in my modem and finds the gap every now and then. perhaps just roll back the driver will fix it but i was just curious as to what it might be. it only happens when i connect { as soon as i hit dial } and like i said not everytime. not really a problem just a glitch that affects nothing.

check with your ISP to see if they did some upgrading . In your upgrading your computer you may of missed theres. Because it only happens when you dial.
