All programs start bar problemEDIT: New thread <Link hidden. Register for free to see this link!> Whats up Carl, haven't seen you on in a while. Post a Hijackthis log so I can have a look. Download and rename <Link hidden. Register for free to see this link!> (HJT)
Note: Although we have renamed Hijackthis to sniper, we will still refer to it as Hijackthis or HJT.

All programs start bar problemHmm, that looks fine. Lets try a different scanner to see if it finds anything new. It is a fairly quick scan - 15 - 20 minutes but is very good at finding hidden bad guys. First: A good cleaning. Download and install <Link hidden. Register for free to see this link!> Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
Note: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp! If you have a 64 bit Operating System do NOT run Cleanup and let me know as we will use another utility ---------- Second: Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) to your desktop from either of these two links.
Next post MBAM log

All programs start bar problemSo no change? See if this helps. Internet Explorer 7 Clear Cache 1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options... 2. Choose the General tab. 3. Under Browsing history, click Delete... 4. Next to "Temporary Internet Files", click Delete files... 5. Click Close, and then click OK to exit. --------- Clearing Java Cache Go to Start > Control Panel and double-click the Java Icon. - Looks like a coffee cup
If that doesn't work try this. Go <Link hidden. Register for free to see this link!> Scroll down to 117. Restore Taskbar and Start Menu (you must use Internet Explorer) Run that and see if it works. ---------- If that didn't work. Do you have an XP CD? If so, place it in your CD ROM drive and follow the instructions below:
If you want to see what was replaced, right-click My Computer and click on Manage. In the new window that appears, expand the Event Viewer (by clicking on the + symbol next to it) and then click on System. ---------- Let me know how it all went.
