Default Anti virus software problems help

Hi All,
hope you might be able to help me, when i bought my laptop over a year ago it came already installed with norton anti virus, i got rid of that cos i thought it was rubbish and got antivir instead, also i go this cos it did not interfere with my internet.
Ok A mate of mine recommened that i should try AVG 8, so i downloaded it, tried to install it but would not install cos of antivir been in use, so i deleted antivir and re tried installing AVG, still came up saying i had antivir still installed, so in the end i left it, and deleted AVG 8, Ok now i have been given a year trail with kaspersky, however again this will not install cos it suggests i have AVG 8 installed.
I went in control panel and uninstalled my anti virus programmes there, but still it detects other anti virus software.
Where else can i try??? i have tried search for antivirus programmes on my laptop and no results, So whats wrong?
How can i over come this problem and finally get Kaspersky installed?
Please help?

i would need to see your logs. Go download HijackThis and ask someone like Evilfantasy to show you how to run a scan (sorry ive never used this program but i can read the log files), then post the log file here, or send me a private message with them.

And Welcome to CJ :)

We don't offer help in private messages.

If you have never used a program it is unlikely you are skilled enough with it to advise on its use.

Just a question: How did you delete the first antivirus? If you just delete the icon, then the pogram is still there because you just deleted the desktop shortcut to it.
