Erm.... I'm not sure what that really means. Sorry but I don't know much about computers.

Can you normally download and run anything you want to?

I don't normally download anything, ever. I recently updated the Kaspersky anti-virus myself, but that's all. My computer is just used for really basic things - emails, internet and Word.

Try this please.

Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from and save it to your Desktop.

  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open.
  • log.txt <will be maximized and info.txt <will be minimized
  • Please post the contents of both logs in the next reply.

Unfortunately the message "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded" comes up when I click on this link too.

I've looked at the Anti-Malware part of the Kaspersky stuff and it's only set to the recommended level - it's not set to a high level so I don't know why there is this problem.

You need to run the scans from an account with administrator privileges.

Whoever owns the computer can make your account have administrator rights.

I own my computer. Or at least I think I do. It was given to me as a present but bought through my husband's company so I'm not sure if he owns it "officially" or I do? Basically he paid for it but he gave it to me. I don't think he wants it back.

How can I make my account have administrator rights?

What kind of Operating System is this?

Are there other people who have user accounts on this computer?
