It is a theme issue. In the default theme all looks ok, but in Royale Vista 2 Blue I get these black bars.

Otherwise all is running ok and there is no slow down.

I would have never suspected a theme to be the culprit. Nice piece of detective work!

Decided to give this a try on my new laptop as was starting to feel Avast looks dated.

Must say I am very impressed, some nice little touches like the positive and negative ratings for web pages on a Google search.

If it isn't a fast machine the link scanner can slow down searches. Site advisor is more efficient.
