I have recently had problems with the latest update to avg version 8.0 with it interfering with my system so i uninstalled it and put on another antivirus. However when i originally updated 7.5 to v 8.0 i allowed the security toolbar with it. Now that i have tried to uninstall all associated files even going into the registry and using a registry cleaner whenever i connect to the internet i get a warning box up saying something like " unable to connect to security toolbar if i continue to experience these problems contact tech support" Thing is even if i try to delete all egistry entries and reboot i still find this warning box comes up and the files that i thought were deleted seem to regenerate themselves. HELP this is so frustrating.

Can't remember, but is that a variant of the yahoo toolbar? Try uninstalling that too.

Hi there mike, have tried to uninstall yahoo aswell and it seems to make no difference.Wish i hadn't updated AVG, i had v7.5 for about 5 years with no probs. If i could just find a way of stopping this annoying warning box coming up i would be content.

Try looking HERE.

You may also want to go to the AVG Free forums. Since this is a fairly new version of AVG not many people have much experience with it yet. http://freeforum.avg.com/
