i just bought AVG 8.0 - the latest expensive version that protects my computer but everytime i click the icon on my desktop it won't budge. the right bottom icon isn't the original color like red and black anymore but turned grey! i think its workin but something is blocking it from working... i already uninstalled my previous AVG's

but i have a feeling that one of my register cleaner 'Registry mechanic' (an extremely good software that i have paid with alot of money) might be blocking the AVG, i'm not sure, i just want to confirm if it is... but please... don't make me uninstall the whole 'registry mechanic'

someone help me figure out how to open my AVG 8.0. it did not say that it was blocking AVG in 'Registry Mechanic', but i have a feeling, what do you think?

Have you tried shutting off Registry Mechanic to see if it makes any difference?

ok so i've turned off my registry mechanic and now a message pops up on the bottom right hand corner saying 'watchdog disconnected' from AVG. i don't know what this means and i dont know how to connect it back again.
i also checked my computer 'security centre' and it says that i dont have a virus protection

Since this is a paid version and is a fairly new release you might want to contact AVG Support on this issue. Not being rude, but that is part of the deal when you pay is free support.

If you don't get an answer from them then let us know. I will do some searching in the mean time and post back if I find anything.

I tried to install the free 8.0 version earlier today and got errors. It wouldn't install. See HERE

yea, they made me pay for it when it got to the installation part on the free trial, so what the heck, i'm a long time user of AVG, but i used the free version and wanted to upgrade it so i decided to buy it.
i had to uninstall my registry mechanic to get AVG workin again! what a waste...
