AVG7.5 / AVG 7.5 Free Virus Software Download

Hi

I am new to this site and have recently downloaded the AVG7.5 free anti virus software. No probs with download but I am unable to update. I get a message and the update fails to download.

For info I currently run the standard windows firewall as loaded on my system and the avg exception has been checked.


Please can anyone shed any light.

Download the latest updates directly from AVG. http://www.grisoft.com/doc/32/us/crp/0

See if that helps to clear the problem up.

Thanks for link. Unfortuanatly still had problems. Finaly managed to resove them today. There was a clash between programme and previous virus protection. System would not allow me to remove until I downloaded removal tool which allowed for removal of old virus protection. AVG has now sucessfuly downloaded and working.

Yep ..... Norton is notorious for leaving all kinds of junk on your system after uninstalling in the conventional way.
The Removal Tool is the only true way of getting rid of it all.

Wise choice to dump it m8y ...... you certainly wont miss it and your PC will run faster without it

Philthomas is spot on , dump Norton my friend used it for a year and it slowed him down immensely, And correct me if im wrong but dont Mcafee also leave stuff behind?

Yes there are removal tools for both Norton and McAfee

Norton Removal Tool and McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool.
