Default Cant switch off popup blocker

The popup blocker is stopping connection to almost everything. Even responses to questions in this forum. Have tried switching it off in tools, and changing the setting in the control panel. Nothing seems to make any difference. I'm not very computer literate so need some basic help. I would appreciate any info. Thanks

Have you tried allowing the sites you want?

Allow Web sites list

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings.
3. In the Address of Web site to allow box, type the address of the Web site, and then click Add.
4. Click Close.

Or in the registry.

If you are unfamiliar with the Registry make sure you are very careful and follow the instructions exactly.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_WEBOC_POPUPMA NAGEMENT
3. Double-click Iexplore.exe
4. To turn off the full Pop-up Blocker, in the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
Or to turn on the full Pop-up Blocker, in the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

Exit the registry editor.

You may have to restart the computer for it to begin working.

Thanks evilfantasy, tried adding the web address in Internet Explorer popup blocker settings and I have the filter level on low, still doesn't work. Could not even open your reply from the main page. It seems to be getting worse.

Then you will need to edit it in the registry.

It is actually built into the browser with SP2 so removal is not an option (that I know of).

Try out Firefox, their slogan is "Take Back The Web" and it is true. www.mozilla.com/firefox
