i have setup AVG (8) FREE to scan finished downloads due to my recent virus from a downloaded sound driver. problem is i downloaded this sound driver again to see if Command line scanner picked it up and it DIDENT worst of all when i did a normal scan on the file AVG did pick it up! i have set it all write am sure because when command line scanner kicks in a small black box appears on my screen (command line scan-start-finished) then disappears

is there a free program out there that is just a command line scanner on its own and is oviusly very good?
thanks pete

For single files I would use an online file scanner.

VirSCAN.org FREE on-line scan service
(If more than one file needs scanned they must be done separately and logs posted for each one)

Just browse to the file and it will be scanned by multiple antivirus engines.
