I cannot run any antivirus scans, ad-aware, avast, spy-bot, superantispyware etc. Computer will randomly freeze up just as I'm about to do anything. I was able to get a hijack this report(see below).

I am running Windows XP, Celeron D processor, 768mb ram, This problem is getting progressively worse. I don't think it is a hardware program (power supply) as I just replaced the power supply a couple of months ago.

Here HJT log:

I don't see anything malware related, but that does not mean there is none.

Have you downloaded anything around the time that this started happening?

Added new hardware?

Can you boot into safe mode and run the scans?

No, I am unable to start the computer in Safe mode, when I try, it gets stuck(freezes?) and doesn't do anything.

This started probably a couple months ago, but i haven't been using it that much because i was moving.

But a couple of weeks before this started I had a virus on my computer with MSN the one where it sends a message to everyone saying " Can i post this pick of you on facebook" ... I can't remember the name of the virus now, but it came as a picture.zip file which my sister opened while using msn.

This is the only thing i can thing of that would have an effect, my computer has been pretty secure, don't really download much.... only thing else that may cause a problem is AOL(which in my opinion is a horrible program).

Please download Combofix by sUBs from one of the below links.
(Try all three if necessary)IMPORTANT - Combofix.exe MUST be saved to your your Desktop.
  • Close any open Web browsers. (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc)
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with Combofix. <-- IMPORTANT
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled and how to disable them. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    • From the keyboard select 1 and press Enter
  • When finished, it will produce a log for you.
  • Post that log in your next reply.
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running.
The scan will temporarily disable your desktop.
If interrupted it may leave your computer frozen.
If this occurs, please reboot to restore the desktop.

Next post please add
Combofix log
