i want to delete my current firewall which came standard on my computer when i bought it and replace it with the CA Personal Firewall

ive tried deleting the current firewall and dont know how

could someone please help me out

also i want to delete my current security settings (ie spyware, malware, etc. i think the current program is Windows Defender) and replace them with CA security which i just bought

If you are talking about the built in Windows Firewall the you can't delete it.

If you are using Vista then you can't uninstall Windows Defender. It is built in to the OS. If it is XP then go to add/remove programs and uninstall it.

CA should disable the Windows firewall when you install it so it will not cause any problems.

Vista - Disable Windows Defender: Open Windows Defender, click on Tools->Options, select Administrator Options, and uncheck the Use Windows Defender box. Confirm that you do indeed want to do this, click Close.
