I am the computer's administrator, but I can't do anything administrative anymore! There are only two accounts on my computer: my administrative account, and the guest account I activated for when other people want to use my computer, which should have a lot less abilities than I do. However, in my own admin. account, I cannot go to change my desktop background/screensaver or all the account settings! The only way I can even get another picture as my background is to right-click -> set as background. I think it's because I have spyware on my computer, how do I get rid of it so I can actually personalize my stuff again?

Let's have a look.

Download TrendMicro HijackThis.exe (HJT) to the Desktop.
  • Double-click on HJTInstall.
  • Click on the Install button.
  • It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe.
  • Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button
  • HijackThis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
  • Copy and then paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
  • Do not have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Ok, boot up into safe mode, than log in with the built in administrator loging (username: "administrator" (remove quotes)Password: leave empty) you should now have complete admin control. Go to control pannel>user accounts and you should be able to change your account back to admin status.

This is malware and unless you remove it trying anything different will not help.

Yea, I should have posted to go to your sticky after that, but I didn't think your programs work as a limited user do they?

Not sure yet. A HijackThis log should be revealing enough to know what tools to use next. Manual or automated...
