Default Free clean up programmes

Hi all

I wonder if you can give me some advice. My computer is running a bit slow. I have done the usual things, defraging etc. But it has done little to help. I also put some more RAM in it. I looked on the net for help and came up with a programme, SpeedUpMyPC. However, it scans your PC for free but to fix the problems you've got to pay. My question is are these programmes any good? Can I get the same thing for free or is there something else I can do. If these programmes work which one is the best?
Thanks Paul

I wouldn't pay for that.

Try CCleaner, auslogic reg defrag and auslogic disk defrag.

Ccleaner is free and very good, it cleans hidden junk and temporary files.

Chances are you will have some spyware or even viruses if the machine is abnormally slow.

Try Spybot to clean any spyware and do a virus scan too.
