Also, not wishing to sound unfriendly, but most people here wouldn't recommend Norton to anyone other than their enemies, because it's bloatware and a resources hog and not very good at what it's designed for either.
In my experience, many systems that have issues, turn out to be Norton related and because of this I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Very true. At some point (8-9 years ago?) Symantec decided that home users needed enough protection for a vast network of computers running throughout their home. It is simply overkill what the product does to a single computer. I have seen Hijackthis logs with up to 13 separate Services running from Symantec/Norton. Rediculous!!!

On another note, while there are some good Security Suites for home use they are often too heavy on resources. It is usually a better choice to use a mix of reliable lightweight free security programs. Doing so will make using a PC much more enjoyable.
