| AVG in my opinion just continues to climb higher and higher on the bloatware ladder and this latest "AVG Remover Tool" puts them right up there with Symantec/Norton and McAfee. Special tools should be reserved for removing malware. Not a legitimate antivirus! ![]() Quote:
AVG Remover: AVG Antivirus and Security Software Remover utility AVG Remover utility removes all parts of AVG installation on your computer, including registry items, installation and user files on your disk, etc. AVG Remover is the least option to be used in case the AVG uninstallation / repair installation process has failed repeatedly. Warning: All AVG user settings will be removed after the uninstallation, as well as the Virus Vault content and other item related to AVG installation and use. During the removal procedure you will be asked to restart your computer. Therefore please make sure to finish your work and to save all important data prior to AVG Remover launch. |

| Hmmm...I've used AVG for years with no problems and don't feel v8 is any poorer, nor does it use a great deal in the way of resources. I was comparing resources with a NOD32 user earlier this week. With just the interface open, no scans running, AVG was only using around 25MB while NOD32 was using over 40MB.

| It's a good AV. I've been critical of it since it refused to install when I tried to upgrade to the 8.0 version. I changed the title. It is a trusted antivirus so I shouldn't be worrying anybody. |

| I used to use AVG as my anti virus moved onto Avast for now. From my experience and what I remember AVG did the job. Might try out this tool to get rid of anything thats left from it |

| The first thing you want to try is to locate AVG in the Add/Remove Control Panel and try to remove it from there. Follow these instructions to accomplish this. Click on Start, Control Panel Open Add/Remove Programs Find AVG in the Programs list and highlight it Click Remove and follow the prompts to uninstall AVG |
