I Really Need Help Keepin Adware and Spyware at Bay on Vista Basic

hi,
the girlfriends lil' sis has got a tevion vista basic laptop but there is a icon for windows defender in the control panel should this be there as i have recently got rid of winpc defender (didnt realise it was fake lol) on my pc runnin black xp final build usin spyware doctor are windows defender and winpc defender alike in that they could be spyware etc also could anyone tell me where to get the best freeware for adware spyware protection and removal
any help would be much appreciated

Sorry but we do not help with pirated versions of Windows. Get a legal copy and then ask and we will point you in the right direction(s) to keep your computer safe and clean. All for free I might add.

Windows Defender is made by Microsoft and is a perfectly good tool for what it's designed to do.

i'd say use ad aware for antipsyware and kaspersky/nod32 for anti virus, you'll have to purchase it though, if you are looking for a free solution, avg is the way to go, but it's not as good as kaspersky or nod32, for antispyware you could still use the free version of ad aware but for realtime protection you'll need the pro version, and i think this thread should be in the 'virus, spyware and security' forum.
