Since Sunday morning 9/21 I have been getting the pop with title iexplore.exe-Bad Image whenever I open IE7 and the pop up with the title rundll32.exe-Bad Image whenever I log onto my computer. Both boxes show the following....

C:\Windows\AppPatch\AcLayers.DLL is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

I haven't installed anything within the last few days. I'm not able to restore to an earlier date. I have uninstalled all Adobe related programs, uninstalled the update KB950759. Reset default settings for IE. IE works without add-ons. I performed malware and virus scans, with no threats showing.I installed Firefox yesterday, and it works fine. IE works after I click OK...but it seems my computer is getting slower and slower. It's to the point now where I cant be on for a few minutes without it freezing.

I am running vista home premium with service pack 1...please help if you can.

Download TrendMicro HijackThis.exe (HJT) to the Desktop.
  • Double-click on HJTInstall.
  • Click on the Install button.
  • It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe.
  • Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button
  • HijackThis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
  • Copy and then paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
  • Do not have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

This is not a malware issue.

Have you gotten all of the Windows updates recently?

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of information on this error that I can find.

Go HERE. Don't worry about the "Flight Simulator X game" part but scroll down to the RESOLUTION and try installing the Hotfix for your system.

Not sure. You might try posting in the Windows Operating Systems forum.
