I think I found it. When you installed Messenger Plus! you also installed the Sponsor software which is adware called CID. We should be able to get rid of the sponsored software in this next step.

Disable your antivirus and antimalware programs so they do not interfere with the running of Lop S&D.

Double click LopSD.exe - If you are using Windows Vista, right-click on the LopSD icon and select Run as administrator to perform this scan.

  • Choose the language by typing of the corresponding letter and press Enter
  • Click OK at the informative window.
  • Type 2 to choose Option 2 (Delete with Hosts File Restore), then press Enter
  • Wait until the end of the scan.
  • A report will be generated, post the contents of it in your next reply.

Go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Messenger Plus! Live & Sponsor (CiD)

If you reinstall Messenger Plus! Live do not select the option to install the sponsored software, only install Messenger Plus.

Restart the computer and see if the iexplorer is still running.

You can try. If it still acts up then start a new topic in the General Software forum.

Keep Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware. Update and run a scan with them now and then.

Unistall LOP S&D

Click START then RUN
Now type C:\Lop SD\Uninstal.exe in the runbox.

Then click OK.

----------

Download OTCleanIt.exe and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double-click OTCleanIt.exe.
  • Click the CleanUp! button.
  • Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
  • If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
  • The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it yourself.

----------

Next: Set a New Restore Point to prevent possible reinfection from an old one.

Please go to: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore -> System Restore Settings
Click to add a check mark beside Turn off System Restore and click Apply
When you are warned that all existing Restore Points will be deleted, click Yes to continue and wait a few moments to let System Restore clear.
Uncheck "Turn off System Restore"
Click "Apply," and then click "OK".

----------

Use the Secunia Software Inspector to check for out of date software.
Out of date software has security vulnerabilities that malware can exploit.
  • Click Start Now
  • Check the box next to Enable thorough system inspection.
  • Click Start
  • Allow the scan to finish and scroll down to see if any updates are needed.
  • Update anything listed.

----------

Go to Microsoft Windows Update and get all critical updates.

----------

Make sure all of your security programs are up to date and run scans with them regularly.

I suggest using WOT - Web of Trust. WOT is a free Internet security addon for your browser. It will keep you safe from online scams, identity theft, spyware, spam, viruses and unreliable shopping sites. WOT warns you before you interact with a risky website. It's easy and it's free.

SpywareBlaster - Secure your Internet Explorer to make it harder for these ActiveX programs to run on your computer. Also stop certain cookies from being added to your computer when running Mozilla based browsers like Firefox.
* Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware
* If you don't know what ActiveX controls are, see here
