Windows defender came up with a pop up saying I had TrojanDownloader:Win32/Zlob I clicked remove but I don't know if it will still be on my system, or if it has downloaded other trojans. I might have got it yesterday when I clicked on a youtube link in firefox but ...

I'm not sure if my computer is infected or not
Windows defender came up with a pop up saying I had TrojanDownloader:Win32/Zlob I clicked remove but I don't know if it will still be on my system, or if it has downloaded other trojans. I might have got it yesterday when I clicked on a youtube link in firefox but someone had deliberately spelt it wrong that sent it to a spam site that said "YOUR ACTIVE X IS NOT UP TO DATE YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD A NEW ONE. PRESS YES TO DO THAT" or something like that. I realised It was a virus type thing so I clicked cancel, which just gave me the same message again so I killed firefox.exe.

Welcome to C-J.
Open Hijackthis and select Do a system scan only and place a check mark next to O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file) Close all browser windows except for Hijackthis and click Fix checked. ---------- Go to msconfig and choose Normal Startup Mode. Restart the computer and leave this option until we are done with cleaning. If you are having problems with too many items running at startup use Startup Tool. Once installed right click an entry and choose Remove. It will not remove the program but will remove the startup entry in the registry which is better then the msconfig method. ---------- Go here and work through the steps. Copy and paste all of the logs here when done, including a new HJT log after all the other steps are complete.
