Hi, im new to the forums but i need a bit of advice. My nan hs gone and bought some cheap and nasty advent laptop, which is vastly underpowered she also decided to buy herself some full out norton internet security. but with the laptop only having 256mb of memory ...

Hi, im new to the forums but i need a bit of advice.

My nan hs gone and bought some cheap and nasty advent laptop, which is vastly underpowered she also decided to buy herself some full out norton internet security. but with the laptop only having 256mb of memory its running rather slow.

Could anyone recommend some software which isnt such a system hog

would appreciate any advice

P.S. If you don't mind ditching Norton it is widely recommended doing so.

The Norton Removal Tool is suggested. Norton/Symantec products can be notoriously hard to remove.

I would suggest avast! 4 Home Edition. Which can be found HERE.
It is free, and it won't hog resources.

And i totally agree with evilfantasy, Norton is rubbish and is a complete resource hog.

I would suggest using Panda Antivirus Pro 2009, it has a small foot print with all the features you would need not to bog your resources down.
