Hello,

I have a really easy question but I can't answer it. I just looked at my internet settings with Kaspersky and it said this:

Kaspersky Internet Rules Settings
Networks
Name: Other networks: internet; State: connected; Status: public network
Name: Broadband 440x10/100: integrated controller; State: connected; Status: local

Please could anyone explain what this means? Sorry about my level of ignorance in IT matters but I'm lost without advice from people like you. Basically I'm hoping I'm connected to a straightforward internet broadband connection - and nothing else...

basically what this means is when you set up the internet, the network profile was set to public network. this indicates you are connected to the router and if it works your fine. :)

Thank you for your reply. I was really ashamed of posting it and showing my utter ignorance in IT matters. This forum is so advanced, I can hardly follow any of the threads at all! In fact, it's like listening into space-travellers talking in their super-advanced language. :-)
