Default Kids pc infected?

Hi
The problem on the kids pc is this
AOL auto starts when they log into there accounts, then when they sign in it will not connect ( no modem detected)
they could get on okay when norton firewall was turned off
so i un-installed it and put comodo in its place
problem is its still happening when the firewall is on"-no modem-" comes up
but turn the firewall off its fine
have run c cleaner
anti malwarebytes
spyware dr
avg
ad ware
spybo
even installed nortons antivirus and ran with updates
but problem remains
Any help appreciated

Have you tried allowing AOL in the firewall settings?

The kids pc has been wireless for about 1 year its only recently happened
Had tried that first in nortons and aol was permitted in all aspects but thought it might be that they wanted me to subscribe again for another year so i deleted nortons from the add and remove in control panel and installed comodo
worked fine for few hours on internet clicking yes to all aol pop ups with no probs
then again same thing wont connect unless firewall disaled
all i can add is that as you know ive said its wireless i have no problom connecting my other devices to the net

There might be some of Norton left over messing things up.

Download the Norton Removal Tool (SymNRT) to your Desktop.

Once downloaded please close ALL open browsers, also save any work because this may require a restart.
  • Go to your desktop and double click on the removal tool and then click Setup.
  • Once open Click Next
  • Accept the license agreement and click Next
  • Type in the letters/numbers that you see into the text box then click Next.
  • Then click Next and the tool will start running.
  • Once finished restart the PC and run the tool again to ensure everything has been removed.
  • Delete Nortonremoval tool from your Desktop.

If you can connect wirelessly and not over the wire in your router, it might be a problem with the router assigning a duplicate ip address on your network - try rebooting the modem and router and see if that helps, and if not, run the network repair options?

They should be able to adjust the settings to make it not auto-launch. I'm not sure how as I don't use it.
